I want to get my mother something that benefits people who are less fortunate than we are, as something extra with her gift. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
you can buy cards or gifts like handicrafts and decoratives, clothes handmade by underprivileged kids, like cry foundation for instance. would need to search the web, there are many such opportunities available..

My Mum passed away 7 weeks ago today so suddenly without warning aged 49. Mothers day is looming and it is also my Dad’s birthday the same day. I was just wondering whether anybody new what would be a nice and thoughtful gifts that I could make/buy/do?
I want to do something special for my Mum.
Thank you
On this web site you can buy a rose bush and have it named after a loved one.

what should I get my mom for mothers day?
what do moms need?
Last year I made one of those fruit bouquets where you have the fruit cut up to look like flowers and stuff on skewers. It wasn’t as good as the commercial ones, but she loved it.
The key is to do something meaningful. For some that is buying the spa package, for me it was to make something.
Good luck!

As a indian restaurant we expect many mothers to dine in on mothers day, however seen as though we want to be unique what would it be like if we gave away shawls(indian designed scarfs) or a saree as a gift to the mothers. i would like to see responses from mothers and general public to see what you would feel like if u received a gift from an indian restaurant which was authentic like a saree.
ooooh, i am a mother and i would LOVE a saree. I am mixed race and have many asian friends and hate it when they go to weddings because they get to wear all of those colourful clothes.
Great idea, but it may be costly…will the person paying for the meal have to pay for the saree too?

i think that pretty much explains itself! waht r some good mothers day gifts ? I LOVE MY MOM SO MUCh
You need not buy a gift give her an I.O.U. for 1 dinner made by you, clean the house and car etc. She will think more of your care of her than anything you could buy. P.S. don`t forget to tell her every day that you love her one day it will be the last chance.

What are good mothers day gifts? My mom likes to read and go walking
How about giving your mom a book (of her interest) and
bring your mom to a nature park and have picnic there?Spend some quiet time together catching up.

also that could work for grandmothers to?
This is really pretty: Betta Fish in a Vase! http://www.foundus.com/betta/betta.htm
(or just a fishbowl or vase with the fish, not the plant)
My mom loves those boxes of Applets and Cotlets …
You could buy a dvd of something currently popular, or a book like the new one by Valerie Bertinelli about how she recently lost weight, called Losing It. Very popular right now.
