Moms Love Flowers

Every year, I get gifts for the Godparents of my children on Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day. I have heard that this is NOT common practice. I think you should. What is the etiquette rule on this?

Godparents day is the first Sunday in June. Originally it was celebrated on New Years Day, but most parishes nowadays celebrate it during Mass the first Sunday in June.

I would not celebrate godparents day on Mother's day or Fathers day. Those days are special for parents….and should be restricted to parents.

I think it would be better if you just took the godparents out to brunch after church on that Sunday in June. Give them pictures of the kids. Something nice, not huge….like a 5X7 school picture.

my dad was an asshole as always and didnt get my mom anything, not even a card, nor did he even say happy mothers day. i was the only one who said it out of me, my dad, and my two brothers. we were going to go out to eat last night at my moms choice of a restaurant, but one of my brothers was being his normal selfish and rude self, and he said im not going since its not mothers day yet. and there was a big argument and he still thinks he had a just argument. so we didnt go out. my family consists of the rudest and most selfish people youll ever meet. i cant stand it. but anyways, my mom is obviously in a horrible mood and crying, and i want to get something for her, but i dont know what to get. please help.

Give her a hug, make a card ( She probably will be happier if it's homemade, not store bought.), if you have a pretty flower, you can give that too, if you don't it'll be fine, tell her your sorry about what happened ( It's still OK even if it wasn't your fault). She might feel a little better.

My fiance and I decided to send mothers day cards and flowers as a couple. He said sending seperate cards seperated/divided us and that we were now getting married and should be doing things jointly, which I agree with.

Just wanted some others opinions, is it ok that I sent flowers to my future MIL and my mother from both my fiance and I? Or should I have waited until I am officially her DIL and he is my moms SIL?

Sending flowers is a wonderful jester and I agree with your fiance. Your a couple committed to each other so it's perfectly ok to send flowers together. It's never to early to build stronger bonds with your families.

I need some help with ideas for mothers day gifts!
Something unique would be great.

Well it depends on what you can spend and what your Mom likes, I found these ideas here http://www.giftideacenter.com/Holiday/Mothers_Day/

- Chocolates

- Nice, but simple necklace (that reflects family)
- Mother's Day Card
- Photo Frame with a picture of you and her

- Hugs and kisses!! (Create Hug coupons)
- Create a T-shirt for her (personalized)
- Name a star

Give her an experience – Concert, cooking lessons, art class, a chance to meet someone she admirers.

Maybe plant a tree for her, go to a national park and go hiking…

Or see if she needs work done around the house, maybe you can help her clean a room, repair something or help her organize photos into a wonderful memory book. (Basically you are giving time and sharing memories)

Remember it is not always the cost but the meaning behind the gift.

Okay, mothers day is in 8 days and I have no clue what to get my mom. I want it to say I care, but i also want her to be able to use it. Something like, I don't know! A picture frame? Okay, she doesn't like wearing jewelry, and i don't want to get her clothes. She likes decorating the house. Oh, yeah, and I'm 12 years old with only about $25 to 30 dollars.
